HOW PRE-ORDERS WORK ✨

Once Upon a Polly is a pre-order business

We work a little differently to traditional children's clothing brands. Our collections are made to order, which means the majority of our products are available by pre-order unless stated otherwise.

This allows us to carefully plan our production, avoid unnecessary overproduction and bring you magical pieces in limited quantities.

What does pre-order mean?

When you place a pre-order, your item is not currently sitting ready to be dispatched.

Instead, your order helps us determine how many pieces we need to produce. Once the pre-order window closes, your items are ordered into production and made especially for our customers.

This means there is a wait between placing your order and receiving it.

Your expected dispatch timeframe will always be clearly stated on the product page when you order.

📦 When will my order arrive?

Please don't worry if you haven't received a dispatch email shortly after placing your order!

Your order will be dispatched within the timeframe stated on the product page at the time of purchase.

For example, if a product says:

“Pre-order — October dispatch”

this means your order will be produced as part of that pre-order and dispatched during October. It does not mean the item will be dispatched immediately after you place your order.

We will send you an email once your order has been dispatched, including your tracking information where applicable.

We always recommend reading the product description carefully before placing your order.

The pre-order status and estimated dispatch timeframe will be shown on the product page, so you'll know approximately when to expect your order before you purchase.

If you are ordering multiple pre-order items with different dispatch dates, your order may be held and shipped together with the latest dispatch date.

Why do we work this way?

Running as a pre-order business allows us to create small, carefully planned collections without producing huge amounts of stock that may go to waste.

It also means we can offer more of the prints and designs you love, while keeping our collections special and limited.

Every order placed during a pre-order helps us decide what we produce, and we are so grateful for your patience while your pieces are being made. 🤍
